We will be recruiting across the full span of the program, from biospecimen handling through model development to first-author discovery work.
The lab studies coronary microvascular disease and cardiometabolic risk using cardiac PET, high-throughput proteomics and metabolomics, and machine learning applied to electrocardiography. The positions below are expected to open in the coming weeks. They will be held jointly with Dr. Sascha Goonewardena and will sit within the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine. All are onsite in Ann Arbor.
Will lead hypothesis-driven discovery: multi-omic analyses in large prospective cohorts, Mendelian randomization and mediation analysis at biobank scale, and first-author manuscripts. Doctoral degree required.
Will build and train deep learning foundation models for ECG-based detection and endotyping of cardiometabolic disease, and the data infrastructure behind them. Transformer and self-supervised architectures, PyTorch, large-scale waveform harmonization.
Will build proteomic and multi-omic analysis pipelines, deploy model inference across population biobanks, and maintain cross-cohort harmonization. Olink or SomaScan experience, R or Python, causal and genetic inference methods.
Will lead regulatory management and participant-facing operations for the cardiovascular biorepository: IRB submissions, recruitment and study visits, REDCap workflows, and mentorship of junior coordinators.
Will serve as technical lead for the biospecimen pipeline, from collection and biobanking through high-throughput assay coordination, quality control, and vendor management, including the standard operating procedures that underpin the proteomic work.
